Viruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Many patients date their onset of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia following a bad virus infections. A large number of viruses have been implicated, of which the best known are Coxsackie B viruese and EBV. The exact mechanism is not known. It is postulated an abnormal immune response is triggered following the infection. Since the infection has already finished, there is little point in treating the virus infection.

Fibromyalgia Treatment

Fibromyalgia treatment is not a complicated matter, but it is not something that can be cured by self medication or by waiting for the condition to go away. To deal with the condition properly and effectively, a person must seek qualified medical attention and consult with a doctor as to what type of medication will be required in order to make the fibromyalgia treatment as effective as possible. Taking aspirin won’t cut it.

Much to the chagrin of people who are afflicted with this condition, the common treatments for muscle aches that are available over the counter (OTC) simply are not effective when it comes to fibromyalgia treatment. The reason for this is that the condition is not a minor condition that only causes discomfort in those who suffer from it. It can cause severe and chronic pain as well as major chronic fatigue syndrome.

When it comes to the major chronic fatigue syndrome, there are a few prescription drugs that can work wonders to help reverse the affliction induced exhaustion that results from the condition. Mercifully, the prescriptions are not amphetamine based. In the past, drugs used to combat a feeling of being excessively tired were stimulants that had habit forming or addictive properties. Today, the relatively new drug Provigil is often used as a fibromyalgia treatment. Provigil is a non-stimulant pill that is designed to reverse the excessive tiredness in such conditions such as narcolepsy. The use of the drug has been expanded to deal with other exhaustion inducing conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc. It has now been expanded for use as a fibromyalgia treatment.

One can deal with this condition if the proper steps are taken in order to reverse all the problems associated with it. If not, then relief will be drastically delayed and this delay will be totally unnecessary and avoidable.

Fibromyalgia Basics

No one enjoys muscle aches and pains, that is for sure. Luckily, most of the muscle pain that people have to deal with is usually of the minor variety. Then, there are those people who can not consider themselves so fortunate and develop serious muscle problems. The most common of these aching syndromes is arthritis. While arthritis is among the most common of the severe muscle ache syndromes it is hardly alone as there are other equally serious albeit less understood conditions that people might become afflicted with.

Those who have ever struggled with arthritis or knows someone who has had to deal with the condition might also be familiar with the condition of fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a general feeling of muscle pain and discomforting fatigue. While this may not seen like a serious condition based on the definition alone, the reality of the matter that is an incredible serious condition as many people who suffer from it have to go through an incredible amount of discomfort unless the condition of fibromyalgia is properly treated.

Part of the reason for the lack of understanding regarding the condition relates to the fact that many of the aches and pains that are associated with the condition are common within many other muscular problems, some of which are minor. Because of that, fibromyalgia often times goes unnoticed or is misdiagnosed. When it finally becomes apparent that the condition is present, the problems have gotten much worse.

If there is a moral to this it would not to shirk off minor pain or assume that it is nothing severe it the pain reaches a significant, debilitating degree and occurs in frequent intervals. If the doctor does not seem to take your concerns are serious as you feel they merit, then it would be wise to get a second opinion so as not to let it go untreated.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Basics

Chronic fatigue syndrome, also known as post-viral fatigue syndrome  or myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), is one of the most mysterious and controversial illnesses today. Until recently, many physicians do not believe that it exists as a physical illness but rather that it is completely psychological in nature.  Chronic fatigue syndrome is a  variably debilitating disorder or disorders generally defined by persistent fatigue unrelated to exertion and not substantially relieved by rest, and accompanied by the presence of other specific symptoms for a minimum of six months.  Simply put, chronic fatigue syndrome is the condition wherein a person suffers from prolonged fatigue that cannot be associated to a definite cause. It has several symptoms, most of which related to feeling weak and being in pain. Along with that, sore throat, fever, neuropsychological dysfunction, and visual problems may occur.

Medically, differential diagnosis is performed to analyze the cause of the certain symptoms the patients with the chronic fatigue syndrome experiences. Since this is a rather eccentric disease, physicians have to use the elimination process to accurately make a diagnosis. And when they reach a working diagnosis, it means the most probable underlying disease has been identified. The doctors then, give the corresponding medications accordingly. But if the condition fails to improve despite the treatments given, the diagnosis has to be reconsidered.

Still clinically speaking, the methods of effectively treating this disease are being worked out. To date, there is no therapy determined just yet to fully cure it. Instead, the focus is placed on the ways to address the major symptoms connected with the disease.

And because traditional medicines and techniques are cannot guarantee full treatment, alternative medicine capitalizes. With that, several unconventional methods are developed and performed. Fortunately, most of them are helpful in improving the patient’s condition, as per the testimonials of patients who tried it.

Chelation and holistic therapies, coupled with herbal and nutritional supplements are said to work best in a patient with chronic fatigue syndrome. Although these methods are not totally recognized by the medical society, people opt for them, especially if they do make them feel better. When it comes to the chronic fatigue syndrome, recovery is somehow slow with traditional medicines, and so some patients are considering alternative healing instead.

But whichever treatment method is chosen, only one thing should be remembered at all times. All the techniques performed and the drugs to take have to be fully monitored by a qualified health care professional. It is not correct to self-heal, as chronic fatigue syndrome can be disabling.

Immunodeficiency and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome can be such a frustrating disease. For one thing, it is very resistant to the traditional ways of treatment. A lot of diagnosis maybe performed and all the orthodox methods of healing maybe carried out, and it still persists.

Chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome is a condition wherein the body succumbs to too much exhaustion. And it is not the usual tiredness that you feel after a day’s work. It is something that can last day after day no matter how long you sleep at night or how much rest you take. It may also cause the development of other diseases, such as yeast infections, hypoglycemia, hypothyroid, and hormonal imbalance, among others.

Usually, the symptoms of this disease are far-fetched and sometimes mind-boggling that traditional physicians spend a lot of time in the diagnosis stage rather than on the curing phase. And when they eventually get to the bottom of the problem, dead-end diagnosis follows. More often than not, traditional doctors run out of options with regards to the actual treatment of the root cause of the disease because they focus on the control of the symptoms instead.

With all these said, chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome is best healed the alternative way. If you have tried all the prescription medicines your physician gave you and none of them seemed to have worked, it should be time to consult with an alternative health provider. They should be able to walk you through the different treatments with which you can undergo, including the one that suits you best.

And to combat chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome, alternative medicines are given. Currently, glyconutrients is the drug most usually prescribed. This is a relatively new drug that is making waves in the field of alternative medicine. And it is the medicine found to be most useful in treating chronic fatigue immunodeficiency.

Fibromyalgia Guaifenesin Treatment

Being overcome with intense physical and muscular pain is hardly a feeling that people would welcome. Unfortunately, there are many medical conditions where these painful sensations are quite common. Fibromyalgia is one of the more discomforting conditions that an individual might become afflicted with. The reason for this is not only is there an issue of physical pain and discomfort, but also there is the inherent problem of chronic fatigue syndrome which is a major component of this condition. Those who have been suffering from fibromyalgia have been wishing for a miracle cure for quite. Now, while fibromyalgia guaifenesin is not a “miracle cure” per se, it is a highly effective treatment that has allowed people to overcome much of the discomfort that the condition causes.

Fibromyalgia Guaifenesin is a specific type of drug designed to process the excretion of uric acid from the human body. Initially a treatment for gout, it has now been expanded to deal with fibromyalgia. As such, fibromyalgia guaifenesin has experienced an expanded popularity in the drug market.

The dosage that a patient will receive of fibromyalgia guaifenesin will depend on the positive response the patient displays. That is, a doctor may initially prescribe a low dose and then gradually increase the dosage until the full positive effects of the drug become clearly displayed. While this may seem like a weird experimentation on the patient, it is the common means outpatient medication therapy is usually performed. It is always better to start low and then gradually increase as opposed to starting high and having a negative reaction that will force a lowering of the dosage.

Fibromyalgia guaifenesin is not by any stretch of the imagination a miracle cure for the condition, but it definitely provides a significant stride in the means in which this unseemly condition afflicts people.

Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Just like other diseases, chronic fatigue has its own share of symptoms. The primary telltale sign of chronic fatigue is prolonged feeling of tiredness, which could last for as long as six months. This is what 25% of the people who have chronic fatigue always complain of.

The type of chronic fatigue symptoms that patients feel are very different from what one feels after a stressful day at work. It is a severe, weakening fatigue that is not relieved by any kind of rest or sleep. And most physical and mental activities could make the condition even worse.

Aside from tiredness, the chronic fatigue symptoms list includes cognitive dysfunction and postexertional malaise. Cognitive dysfunction is characterized by memory loss and concentration problems. Postexertional malaise, on the other hand, is extreme exhaustion after even a simple mental or physical exercise.

People suffering from chronic fatigue symptoms will also experience a round of less than refreshing sleep. They may be able to sleep the normal hours all right, but when they wake up, they won’t feel revitalized at all. Sleeping then is reduced to a routine that doesn’t have any physical benefits to a person at all.

Joint pains and persistent muscle pains are also going to surface. Joint pains usually occur without swelling or redness. But just the same, its presence can be alarming that an appointment with a doctor maybe necessary.

And along with all of these, multiple episodes of headaches will also be experienced. The lymph nodes and the cervix area may also become tender. Sore throat would arise from time to time as well.

There are also some chronic fatigue symptoms that are showing on several individuals alone. The symptoms may not be apparent to other patients, but they appear quite too commonly that researchers of the disease established a link between them. These chronic fatigue symptoms include irritable bowel movement, brain fog, chills, night sweats, chest pain, chronic cough, jaw pain, and allergies.

Diet for Chronic Fatigue

Never underestimate the effects of one’s diet on the physical well being a person may feel. Diet means a lot. When you eat a diet high in fat and sugar, you will suffer the consequences that such a diet will yield. The most common problems associated with diet are, of course, the affliction of obesity. Contrary to popular belief, many people knowingly and consciously enjoy their obesity as they take no steps to get their weight under control. While a person can “blow off” any physical appearance problems obesity causes, they can not “blow off” the medical maladies that will result. On the flipside, people who have afflictions that they are uncomfortable with, a change in diet may result in a reversal of any problems the person may have. Such is the case with the very common chronic fatigue diet.

On a baseline level, a chronic fatigue diet will be a diet that drastically increases the protein intake that a person ingests. Protein is commonly found in meats, poultry, beans and a host of other healthy foods. For those who still prefer to skip these foods, there is always the option of having a protein shake in order to supplement one’s protein intake.

Now, this does not mean that one should ingest an insane amount of protein in a very short time period in order to eliminate the problems of the syndrome. Too much protein is not a quality chronic fatigue diet. In fact, it would be a dangerous diet that will overly tax the kidneys to a dangerous level. A decent amount of protein, however, will provide an excellent chronic fatigue diet cure.

In order to arrive at a proper chronic fatigue diet option, it is highly advisable to seek a knowledgeable nutrition specialist who might be able to properly advise a patient as to what steps need to be taken to make the diet as effective as possible. Going it alone is not always a wise choice.
